Disconnection and All-In Policy

Additionally, due to the nature of Internet connections, a frequent fear when you first start playing poker online is what happens if your computer is disconnected while playing a hand. For the nervous types, you'll be able to find out what happens if you are disconnected while playing. You should also check out how the all-in policy applies.

In the event that you are disconnected from the games system while playing, there are established rules thay will will apply.

  • "If you are disconnected during the play of a hand and have not placed a bet, your hand automatically folds after ten seconds."

  • "If you are disconnected during the play of a hand and have placed a bet, you have thirty seconds to reconnect. If you do not reconnect within 30 seconds, you cannot rejoin the table, and are considered all-in."

"Going all-in refers to a situation where you need to bet all your remaining chips in order to match an opponent's bet. If there are further betting rounds to come after you have gone all-in, you obviously cannot match any further bets, as you have no more chips. In this case, your hand is still considered to be active (i.e. you have not folded), but you are only eligible to win that part of the pot which is proportionate to your total bet. The money that went into the pot after you are all-in is put into a side pot and you cannot win it."

However, all-In's are not allowed for disconnections in Pot Limit and No Limit games.

If you are disconnected after making a bet, this bet is treated as an all-in bet. This is done in order to protect your interest in the hand. This means that your hand is not folded - you still remain eligible to win a share of the pot. The amount you could win is proportional to your total bets in the hand up to the point when you were disconnected. After a disconnection. if you are then unable to reconnect before the start of the next hand, "you are treated as sitting out the subsequent hands until you have reconnected and can resume playing".

Please note that there is a limit to the number of times that a Player can call all-in in a 24-hour period. When this limit is exceeded, the Player's hand folds and any money the Player has contributed to the pot is forfeited. This is an added measure of security put in place to prevent unscrupulous players into limiting their potential losses.

You should therefore always be aware of your all-in status if you're connection is subject to repeated disruptions. However, when you have reached the all-in limit, you can request that the limit be reset. To request that the limit be reset just follow the simple steps listed below.

  1. On the Lobby screen, click the "Menu" button. A pop-up menu is displayed.
  2. Select "Options".
  3. Select the "Reset All-Ins" option. Your all-in limit is reset to the default limit.
