Poker Game Betting LimitsThe Royal Vegas Poker room tables have different betting limits. The
limits for the games are usually displayed next to the table name, so
that they are always visible to you. This will allow you to choose a
table that suits your budget. It also gives you an idea of how big the
pots are likely to be at the tables. There are 3 different possible types of betting limits are fixed limit, pot limit and no limit. Fixed Limit - In a fixed limit game, the betting limits are set per betting round. Normally the bet limit for the beginning rounds of betting is set at the lower limit, and for the later rounds it is set at the upper limit. For illustration, if the game structure is $2/$4, then the first few rounds of betting and raising are limited to $2, and for the later rounds to $4. In other words, a player cannot bet or raise more than $2 initially, and then $4 in the later rounds. This means that no one bet or raise can be more than the limits set. Pot Limit - In a Pot Limit game, all bets and raises are limited to the size of the pot at the time of betting. The maximum bet allowed is equal to the total amount in the pot. As you can imagine, this limit changes throughout the hand as the pot increases. No Limit - As you might well expect in a no limit game there is "no limit" to the size of the bets or raises that can be made. Your bet is limited only by the total amount of chips you have, and you can bet any amount up the size of your stack.
